Following recent talks with the organizers of Reggae Sumfest, Jamaica's Ministry of Tourism has announced plans to expand the Reggae Sumfest brand into overseas markets.
Tourism minister Edmund Bartlett, while speaking with CEO of Downsound Entertainment Joe Bogdonavich, expressed optimism about the projected growth of tourist arrivals in July 2023, with bookings for Reggae Sumfest playing a significant role.
Minister Bartlett emphasized that the festival's expansion would not only attract more tourists but also provide an opportunity for Jamaican artists, musicians, and industry professionals to showcase their talents and skills on international platforms.
He further notes that the new vision for expansion is expected to solidify Reggae Sumfest as the premier Reggae event and contribute to the growth of Jamaica's tourism industry.
Reggae Sumfest is a renowned summer music festival that showcases Reggae music and the vibrant spirit of Jamaica.
The week-long festival will showcase Jamaica's musical heritage, featuring performances by renowned Reggae and Dancehall artists, street parties, and cultural activities.
A significant addition to this year's staging of Reggae Sumfest is a free family fun day to kick start the festival.
Reggae Sumfest is eagerly anticipated by both local and international audiences and is set to take place 16 - 22 July at the Catherine Hall Entertainment Complex in Montego Bay.
