The regional airline company, InterCaribbean Airways announces the addition of two aircraft to its fleet to improve regional travel options.
The company, which currently operates three regional aircraft, also revealed an expanded flight schedule that will permit more flights to Barbados, Antigua, Dominica, Grenada, Saint Lucia, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
The two, new aircraft, Embraer 145 Jet and an ATR42-500 are expected to supply an additional 98 seats to the airline’s schedule. This improvement will give regional travelers more opportunities to travel to and from Caribbean islands, removing the need to take a connecting flight through the United States.
InterCaribbean Airways’ new flight schedule links the eastern and western islands, with weekly flights from Guyana to Barbados and connecting in Turks & Caicos. The flight then heads onto the Bahamas, Cuba, and Jamaica.
Travelers can also expect non-stop flight services between St. Lucia and St. Vincent.
In a press release detailing the expanded regional travel service, founder and chairman of InterCaribbean Airways, Lyndon Gardiner says,
"We are committed to expanding our services in the Eastern Islands of the Caribbean, where travelers have been affected by the air travel void left during the pandemic.
It is a privilege to serve these islands and we will continue to work to demonstrate ourselves equal to that privilege and trust with dedication to safety, and creating an overall satisfying experience for all our passengers, we look forward to announcing more exciting news and destinations during this year.”
InterCaribbean Airways, based in Turks & Caicos is privately-owned and managed. The company’s current air service operations connect 28 cities in 17 Caribbean countries.
