Shelly-Ann Fung, left, will lead the new look VIP Attractions leadership team
David Hall, chairman of VIP Attractions, has confirmed the new, wholly Jamaican, leadership of the company.
As of July, Shelly-Ann Fung has moved from her role as commercial director to take the role of chief executive with the organisation.
At the same time, Sean Latty becomes chief operating officer, Jullian Henry moves from deputy director of airport operations to director of airport operations, Club Mobay, and Nicholas Watson moves from international senior sales manager to head of international sales.
Completing the line-up, Allison Callam moves from senior sales manager, Jamaica, to head of sales, Jamaica.
VIP Attractions is the operator of both the Club Mobay and Club Kingston airport lounges, with the former considered the Caribbean’s Leading Airport Lounge by the World Travel Awards.
Shelly-Ann Fung’s appointment to chief executive culminates over 20 years of experience in hospitality management at the finest establishments, including Sandals and the Ritz Carlton.
She has held titles of both director of international sales and commercial director of VIP Attractions.
During her tenure at the company, she has increased sales capacity, forged beneficial partnerships and developed sales strategies to increase profitability.
Sean Latty brings to the position of chief operating officer over 22 years of operations and commercial experience having worked in the airline and telecommunications industry for over a decade at the c-level.
Most recently he served as the chief operating officer of Digicel Jamaica and chief executive of Digicel St. Kitts.
VIP Attractions has also taken the opportunity to reward three star performers over the last two years, with internal promotions.
Jullian Henry will assume the position director of airport operations, Allison Callam will be the head of sales for Jamaica, and Nicholas Watson will be promoted to the head of international sales.
Having launched Club Mobay, Club Kingston, Stay Connected and Jamaica Experiences, the management team of VIP Attractions is embarking on an expansion program in anticipation of the expected future growth in Jamaican tourist numbers.
The expansion will include two additional lounges in the second half of 2017 at Club Mobay in addition to an upgrade at Club Kingston in the Norman Manley International Airport.
Hall noted: “Next year our operation will go international, expanding well beyond our shores.
“It was critical to strengthen our existing team and position them for success in the next stage in our growth development.
“We have incredible talent coming through and with the planned expansion, I hope that this is the first batch of many internal promotions as we develop the perfect management team.
“It has always been my goal to build an all-star 100 per cent Jamaican management team.
“With Shelly-Ann and Sean’s impressive backgrounds and their strong support team, the leadership is in capable hands.
“We are pleased to announce their appointments and we wish them all the best in their new roles.
