Caribbean Airlines (CAL), based in Trinidad, announced on Tuesday that it had fully restored its flight schedule, both domestic and international.
This return to the regular schedule took place in less than 48 hours following the cancellation of more than 60 flights on Sunday as a result of pilots' sick out.
In a statement, CAL revealed that they were operating regular flights alongside recovery flights, some of which were operated by charters on behalf of the airline to accommodate any passengers still affected.
The company said its ongoing efforts to reach out to impacted customers include making phone calls as well as sending email and SMS notifications containing updated information.
On Monday, the Industrial Court of Trinidad and Tobago issued an ex-parte injunction in favour of the airline against the Trinidad and Tobago Airlines Pilots Association (TTALPA).
This injunction barred the TTALPA president, executive members, and their representatives from participating in any industrial action, including mass sick-outs, as defined by the Industrial Relations Act.
The Court also directed TTALPA to immediately instruct CAL workers, who are its members, to report for duty as scheduled in accordance with their employment contracts.
